Cold days, distant peaks, and technical terrain on your tick list' Cross them all off with some help from Zamberlan's 6000 Karka RR Men's Mountaineering Boot. Zamberlan's most advanced non-super-gaiter boot, the Karka sports a nails-tough waterproof upper made from MicroFibre and Superfabric, with a full rubber rand for extra durability and protection. As the name suggests, it's designed for peaks up to 6000 meters, so you can bet it has some serious technical chops. First, the Z6000 last is slightly downturned and asymmetrical for extreme precision on highly technical climbs, and features a triple-density PU midsole to take the sting out of long days and never-ending climbs. Second, the Karka comes with a removable insulated inner bootie, which helps your boot dry faster, provides increased warmth, and gives you something to wear in the tent so your feet don't freeze. Burly boots can be excessively stiff, but Zamberlan avoided clunkiness by designing the Karka with a rear flex hinge that lets your ankle move comfortably without slipping around in the boot. The liner also has a hook-and-loop closure that gives you a snug but flexible fit. All of this is built on a Vibram Teton outsole, which has large self-cleaning lugs and an undercut heel. A shock-absorbing PU wedge under the heel provides extra comfort and stability. Last but not least, the Teton uses TPU heel and toe inserts for full compatibility with step-in crampons, so you can quickly and securely transition from walking to climbing steep snow and ice.
