Despite its small dimensions, the STUBAI HMS PICO is a full-fledged HMS carabiner. The geometry we have worked out is especially suitable with the modern, thin ropes excellent for half-mast throw protection. The PICO is already a hit as a belay, belay station and central carabiner in alpine mountaineering and sport climbing, where every gram counts. As usual from STUBAI, we rely on high-quality brass for the screw. Thus, this runs even after umpteen times of use as fresh from the store, if the part remains clean and gets a drop of oil donated from time to time. The striking red anodizing is an eye-catcher and ensures even in addition best surface protection. With the proven Easylock closure (=Keylock) is annoying hooking when mounting and dismounting passé! We have reduced where possible, but without exhausting the safety limits. Due to the special profile we achieve first-class handling with low weight and nevertheless decent strength values.
